Also left to mourn are her precious grandchildren Kayley, Scott, Ryan and Brendon, her mother Willetta Knight, sister Beverly (Jim) McIntosh of Edmonton, sisters-in-law Elaine Doram of Medicine Hat and Lyda Forbes of Lethbridge, nieces Janelle, Karen, Amber and Kelly and special cousins Richard (Iris) Long of Fraser Valley, B.C., and Pat (Jack – deceased) Wilson of Vancouver, B.C.

Her family and numerous friends will remember her for her keen wit and sense of humor. Along her life path, Lynne made many long lasting and close friends, which was very evident by the support she and her family received during her lengthy illness. We will all miss her laughter and ability to see things on the lighter side.
Her strong faith and her belief that better things are yet to come, allowed her to accept her ALS diagnosis with courage, dignity and gave her the strength to set a positive example for all of us throughout her devastating illness.
When you see a butterfly, hear the chirp of a robin or feel a warm breeze on your cheek, smile, say a brief prayer and remember Lynne for her free spirit and love of God’s beautiful creations. Give thanks Lynne is with her Lord and Savior, free of pain and no longer struggling with ALS. Remember, Lynne’s love is like the wind, you cannot see it but you can feel it.

KENNARD
MYRTLE JOYCE KENNARD
August 10, 1939 - May 11, 2012
Myrtle (Myrt) Kennard, loving wife and best friend of Clayton (Cork) Kennard, passed away suddenly in Cardston on Friday, May 11, 2012. She is survived by her cherished children and grandchildren, who loved and will miss her very much. They are Valarie (Rick) Prince, and their children Kari and Cody, Randy Kennard (Linda), Alan (Roanna) Kennard and their children Kristyn (Kyle) and Cara (David), Greg (Melanie) Kennard and their children Aaron, Amanda and Alec, and loving, dear friend Adeline Beck. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, and her sister Betty Hansen.
Myrt was born to Hugh and Grace (Brown) Wescott in Cardston, Alberta, and was raised in Woolford, Alberta on their farm by the St. Mary River. She lived most of her life in Aetna, Alberta, where she and Cork raised their family. Myrt loved all of her flowers and trees. Her retirement from the Cardston hospital after working for 25 years as a cook gave her more time to tend her gardens and work in her greenhouse. Their yard is beautiful, and she always grew enough flowers and vegetables to give to everyone.
We’ll miss her hugs, her homemade bread, playing games of Scrabble, Yahtzee and Cribbage with her, and sharing all of our stories with her. She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother. We will always love her.
The Funeral Service will be held in South Hill Chapel, Cardston, Ab., on Thursday, May 17th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
Friends may meet the family at the Church on Thursday, May 17th from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the Service. Cremation to follow.

and the late Elizabeth Rempel, passed away in Taber on Saturday, May 12,
2012 at the age of 79 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the Southland
Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Thursday, May 17, 2012 between

Paster Elroy Senneker officiating. Burial to follow at the Vauxhall
Mennonite Cemetery. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at
www.southlandfuneral.com.
As well as his loving wife Betty, Steely is survived by his children Patty
(Myles) Toews of Florence, South Carolina and their children Deanne (Jon),
Justin, Rachael (Erik) and Lyndsay; Betty (George) Hiebert of Worsley and
their children Nicole (Benjamin), Michelle, Brianne, Kaitlyn, Matthew,
Melissa and Emily; Karen (Vic) Pankratz of Surrey, British Columbia and
their children Jaline and Kyle; Tim (Jennifer) Rempel of Lethbridge. He is
also survived by his siblings Bill (Marjorie) Rempel, Annie Hiebert, Jake
(Rae) Rempel, Elsie Quiring and sister-in-law Lester Rempel.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of over fifty years, Elizabeth
Rempel; parents Abram and Anna Rempel; brother Abe Rempel; brothers-in-law
Dave Hiebert and Ted Quiring.
Steely was born in Bassano, Alberta on December 2, 1932. He grew up in the
Gem/Rosemary area, and attended school in Clemenceau, Gem and Coaldale.
After his school years he moved to Calgary where he met Liz Unruh. In 1957
they married and in 1958 they settled in Vauxhall where they raised their
family.
While farming in Vauxhall, Steely was President of the Grazing Association,
President of the Co-op and an Alberta Wheat Pool delegate for many years, as
well as being heavily involved in the Mennonite Brethren Church. He enjoyed
playing hockey and fastpitch. In his retirement years he acted as President
of the Vauxhall Seniors’ Association, enjoyed playing crib and pool, as well
as drinking coffee and visiting with his many friends.
Steely worked hard to provide for his family and showed much love, help and
support over the years.
After the death of wife Liz in 2008, he found love again with Betty. They
married in 2009 and their almost three happy years of marriage were full of
travelling, visiting with family and spending time with friends at the
Seniors’ Association.
Although he had heard the gospel as a child, Steely did not want to commit
his life to the Lord; hockey was the most important thing to him. While he
was at bible school in Coaldale, at age 18 he committed his life to the Lord
Jesus Christ. It was a pivotal moment in his life and that decision showed
itself in how he treated others and lived his life. Steely was known for his
willingness to serve others, giving rides when needed, visiting people in
hospital or Extendicare and helping friends and family whenever a need
arose. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Steely’s name may be made in
support of missions, c/o Vauxhall Mennonite Brethren Church, Box 75,
Vauxhall, Alberta T0K 2K0 (please make cheques payable to the church and
designate for missions).
