FEYTER
With restful hearts we announce the death of STIENA FEYTER, the beloved wife of Francois Feyter, who passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on February 10 at the age of 58 years.
Besides being an amazing wife, Stiena was a mother and grandmother to her 4 children and 13 grandchildren; Erica (Marvin) Vandenhoek and their 6 children Robyn, Carissa, Meghan, Markus, Conner and Kornell; Brent (Janey) Feyter and their 4 children Micah, Sherayah, Levi and Emalee; Loren (Billie) Feyter and their 3 children Jared, Dylan and Denae; and George (Tracey) Feyter.
Stiena is also survived by her loving mother, Jenny Van Hierden, and her seven siblings; Gerrit (Janet) Van Hierden, Ria (Ray) Vanee, Nancy (Walter) Vanden Broek, Henry (Shannon) Van Hierden, Conrad (Rhonda) Van Hierden, Harvey (Bernita) Van Hierden, Richard-deceased- (Tracey) Van Hierden and Jenny (Jake) Boot along with numerous nieces and nephews. Stiena was predeceased by her stillborn baby boy Feyter, her mother in-law Nellie Feyter(97), brother Richard Hendrik Van Hierden(96), father Hendrik Van Hierden(00), nephew Gerrit Van Hierden(01), nephew Joel Arnoldussen(03), niece Rebecca Van Hierden(04), and nephew Randy Van Hierden(04).
Stiena was born May 5, 1953 in Kootwijkerbroek the Netherlands and immigrated to Canada in April of 1954 as a young child of ambitious and courageous immigrant parents. Raised on a farm she learned what work was and frequently chatted about her younger years. In 1972 she married Francois Feyter and together they worked in construction and built their construction business Frans Feyter Construction based on integrity and solid work ethics. In 1978 mom helped dad start a new business, Structural Truss Systems, fabricating roof and floor trusses and was gifted in administering and making business work. This gift was also seen in the accuracy of her bookkeeping and her vision to see things accomplished like helping establish Forma Steel in 1992 to compliment and build on their current business. Our mom exemplified perseverance and creativity by living a life with so little complaining, staying strong throughout her hard times and picking herself up when she felt so weak. As a mom she encouraged her children to pursue activities like organ lessons, boy scouts, swimming, baseball, power skating and together took the family skiing, camping, and vacationing. Her love for others was shown through her devoted service in everything she did; taking us with her to sing at the Pioneer Lodge or Extendicare, organizing VBS in Fort Macleod for a number of years, singing in church choirs, helping her aging mother and faithfully reminding her children and grand children to love God with all their heart. Throughout her illness mom often spoke of her trust and love for God and how God is the one who helped her through. "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." Isaiah 41:10. As a family we thank all our aunts and uncles for your amazing support and help, the Community Care Center in Fort Macleod for your love and attention, Immunity Treatment Center in Mexico for caring for our mom and everyone else for your prayers and encouragement.
A funeral service will be held at 10.00 am, on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at the Bethel Reformed Church, Monarch AB., with Rev. Eric Moerdyk officiating. Interment to follow at the Union Cemetery in Fort Macleod followed by a luncheon at the Fort Macleod Community Hall.
