ANDERSON
ROBERT NEWTON ANDERSON known to most as Bob, passed away peacefully Saturday April 7, 2012.
Bob enjoyed a life well lived, as a man of great principle and compassion. He was a loving husband of 61 years to his wife & partner Shirley Ann Anderson (nee Bennett). He was a very involved and proud father and grandfather to his five children Janis Pritchard (Malcolm), Ellen Anderson (Warren Moore), Jeffrey Anderson (Carol), Garnet Anderson and David Anderson (Cathy); 10 grandchildren Jennifer, Arwyn, Matthew, Dylan, Hilary, Bill, Anna, Rachel, Blair & Cali. Bob was predeceased by his parents Bertha & George Anderson. Bob is survived by his sisters Thelma Stevens (Wendell) and Gena McNabb (Jim) as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Bob was born in Saskatoon, SK on March 14, 1929 and grew up in Saskatchewan attending the University of Saskatchewan for his BA & B.Ed and the University of Minnesota for his MA and PhD. Bob’s career began at Scott Collegiate in Regina, followed by the University of Calgary, the University of Regina, and 21 years at the University of Lethbridge where in addition to his teaching, he served 2 terms as Dean of Education. He was awarded the University of Lethbridge’s Distinguished Teacher Award in 1989.
Bob was passionate about his wife, family, students, colleagues, church and politics. Bob & Shirley lived abroad regularly and travelled widely. He was a citizen of the world, a lifelong learner and a wonderful storyteller for his children and grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday April 11, 2012 at 1:00PM in the MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329- 15 Ave South, Lethbridge AB with Reverend Trevor Potter, officiating.

BIG SORREL HORSE
KENYON CARL (MUTT) (CREIGHTON) BIG SORREL HORSE was born January 14, 1946 on the Blood Indian Reserve to his late parents Bob and Violet (Creighton) Big Sorrel Horse. He passed away at the Rocky View Hospital, Calgary on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the age of 66 years.
Kenyon is survived by his sisters Virginia Black Plume and Mary Rose Many Chief; two children Anita Scout, Velma Little Leaf; grandchildren Nicholas (Jenilee), Nora Nicole, Dawn (Robin Gravelle), Kelly Scout, Deanette, Joshua Little Leaf, Brennan Yellow Horn; great grandchildren Joley, Nickayle, Teslyn, Rayden, Tyrell, Anastasia, Lovaiah Big Sorrel Horse, Jordan, Brooklyn Scout, Deanette, Joshua Little Leaf, Brennan Yellow Horn; great grandchildren Coby, Parker, Raivyn, Ashlyn, Chyme, Tryton, Shenayah, Haiden, Kadence, Makayla, Jack Little Leaf, baby girl Harlow Yellow Horn; numerous nephews and nieces; many relatives from the Blood Reserve too numerous to mention.
Kenyon was predeceased by his wife Nora Scout; brothers Robert, Oliver, and Percy; sister Lily Munoz; brother in-law Angel Munoz who lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma; sisters Florence Big Sorrel Horse and Marina Rides At The Door; numerous uncles, Sam, Stanford and John (Jiggs) Creighton auntie Priscilla Bruised Head; grandparents Percy and Jessie Creighton.
Kenyon attended school at St. Paul's Residential School on the Blood Reserve. He later met his wife Nora Scout and they lived and worked around southern Alberta. Kenyon was raised up by his grandparents Percy and Jesse Creighton. They loved him so much they took him when he was a baby and raised him. Kenyon grew up around the Gladstone Hall area where he ranched and farmed alongside his grandpa Percy. Kenyon continued to live in southern Alberta up until the time of his passing. He travelled in and around Washington and British Columbia but always returned home to the Blood Reserve.
In the mid 1980's Kenyon had an injury that left him disabled but he continued to take care of himself until the mid-1990's. At the time of his passing Kenyon was living at the Southwood Nursing Home in Calgary. Kenyon was a humorous person and made everyone laugh. He had that sense of humor up until the time of his passing at the Rocky View hospital. Kenyon knew and loved his children and grandchildren. The nurses at Southwood Nursing Home mentioned Kenyon's humor and kindness that he showed while living there. The family thanks all the caregivers who took care of him.
Kenyon will be deeply missed by all his loved ones, especially his children and grandchildren, sisters, and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family apologizes to any family members that may have been missed.
A Wake Service will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Tuesday, April 10th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the St. Paul's Anglican Church, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, April 11th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Andrew Horne Officiating. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Blood Reserve. The Family invites all to come to a Feast at the Moses Lake Gym after the interment.

MR. DAVE CARMICHAEL of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Joan Carmichael passed away peacefully on April 8, 2012 at the age of 70 years.
Dave was born April 26, 1941 in Fort Macleod to John & Clara Carmichael.
Besides his loving wife Joan, Dave is survived by his 3 daughters Wendy Turner (Darryl) and their children Ashley, Kathryn and Jacquelyn; Kim Carmichael and her children Michael and Shelby; Lesa Carmichael- Hume (Al Hume) and their child McLaine; 2 sisters Margaret Zech and Shirley Nelson as well as nieces, nephews and their families.
Besides his loving parents John & Clara Carmichael, Dave is predeceased by his sisters Mary Zech, Kay Pearson and one brother Don Carmichael.
A Private family inurnment will take place.
A Celebration of Dave’s Life will be held on Thursday April 12, 2012 at 12:00PM in the EAGELS HALL, 631- 13 Street North, Lethbridge, AB.

Helen was born April 7, 1935 in Sedgwick, AB.
Our loving mother & friend Helen passed away suddenly on April 7, 2012 at the Chinook Regional Hospital.
She was predeceased by her husband Ken Veals on October 20, 2010. Helen’s husband had been with the RCMP therefore they had been transferred to numerous locations within Alberta. Throughout her life she held several positions including having had worked for Royal Trust in Lethbridge as a realtor for several years. Helen loved her animal friends, horseback riding, gardening, crib and having a coffee with the girls.
Helen is survived by her daughters Linda Cook (Mike Burla), Carol Veals (Todd Takeyasu) and Katherine Simon (Guy Simon); grandchildren Jeremy Paul, Crystal Paul (Nick Marchuk) Bryanne Cook (Alex Guzman Soto), Kyle Simon (Nick Tradewell) and Adrianne Simon; great grandchildren Myiah Paul and Braxton Paul Marchuk. She is also survived by Betty Cleven & Joyce and Danny Caton of Winnipeg, MB as well as numerous nieces nephews and special friends.
She will be deeply missed by family & friends.

It is with great sadness that the family of Marilyn Kathleen Macht announces her sudden passing on Thursday April 5, 2012 at the young age of 53. Marilyn was born in Coaldale, Alberta on May 8, 1959 to Peter and Johanna Macht. Marilyn is survived by her loving parents and as well she leaves behind her loving brother Hans Guenther Macht (Ursula) with nephews Jeremy and Jonathan (Amy) and loving sister Lorrie Kastner (Darryl) with nephews Braeden and Matthew
Born and raised in Coaldale, Marilyn attended St Joseph’s School and Kate Andrews High School. She pursued her post- secondary education at the University of Lethbridge all the while working for Customs Canada. Upon her completion of her degree in Business Management, Marilyn was employed with Revenue Canada in Calgary as an accountant for 30 plus years where she held her career in high regard until her passing.
Marilyn lived her life for her family. Her four nephews were the center of her attention. She attended every hockey, baseball and football game that she could. Any opportunity she had to travel and take one of them along, she did. Marilyn gave everything of herself and continuously put everyone else first.
She was the calming, sensible and most caring support within our family. Her independent nature made her who she was. Marilyn will be dearly remembered as a loving daughter, sister, auntie and good friend to the many who knew her. She has left a huge void in our hearts and will be forever missed. As you took such good care of all of us, Marilyn, we now leave you in God’s hands.

MENTANKO
HAROLD MENTANKO, husband of Carol Mentanko, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael's Health Centre on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the age of 78 years.
Besides his wife he is survived by children David Mentanko of Lethbridge, Douglas (Michele) Mentanko of St. Albert, Donna (Rich) Tiefenbach of Lethbridge, Michelle (Kevin) MacMillan of Fort Macleod. Grandchildren Jeffery Mentanko, Jennifer Mentanko, Blake Mentanko, Jackson Tiefenbach, Cal Tiefenbach, Bruce Tiefenbach, Bauer Mentanko. He was predeceased by his parents George and Alice and sister Susan.
Harold was born at home in a small town in northern Saskatchewan called Lady Lake on January 15, 1934. He spent his early days in Saskatchewan then moved to Hamilton, Ontario with his mother at the age of eight. He finished his education there then started out in radio. His first job was in Kenora, Ontario he moved to Lethbridge where he worked in sales for CJOC radio for 31 years. He then went to Minute Muffler in Lethbridge for a few years before starting a business Media Buying Group. Harold had an avid interest in sports, Montreal Canadiens and the Saskatchewan Rough Riders were his favorites. As soon as spring would allow he was on the golf course and golfed until snow covered ground would cause him to hang up his clubs for the winter. He will be missed. Flowers gratefully declined.

ROBERT JAMES OLIVER BROWN (Bob)
In the company of his family, Bob passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Bob was born in Duns Scotland on January 28, 1946. At the age of nine, he, with his family, immigrated to Moose Jaw and then on to Prince Albert. Upon completion of his pharmacy degree (1968) at the University of Saskatchewan, he practised in Prince Albert, Lac La Ronge and Calgary. In 1975 he relocated to Lethbridge and worked as a community Pharmacist until the time of his death.
Bob is survived by his wife Joyce Miyashita, his brother John (Nancy), brothers-in-law Tom, Mits and Herb Miyashita as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob was a skilled pharmacist. He was a gentle man with a great wit and sense of fun. He enjoyed the company of Joyce, good friends, music, travel, golf and the companionship of his dogs. He will be missed.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at MOUNTAIN VIEW CEMETERY, Lethbridge, with Rev. Larry Hankinson officiating.

INA, Born in Alberta in 1921, passed away in Nanaimo on April 4, 2012.
Ina is pre deceased by her husband Cyril (Taffy) Her grandson, Martin and her Brothers Glenn, Oscar and Harry.
Ina is survived by her Daughter: Judy Schenk also Two Sons: Dennis and Miles and Daughter In Law Leanne. Her Grand Children: Terry, Denise, Carri, Cindy, Tracy, David, Mark and Orin. Great Grand Children: Braith, Brynn, Talia, Willow, Anna, Emma, Reid and Zay and her Sisters: Violet and Dorothy.
Ina will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. There will be no service by request.
