Charles Norval FitzPatrick
February 7, 1927 – June 11, 2012
Charles Norval FitzPatrick passed away peacefully with family by his side on June 11th, 2012 at the Vulcan Community Health Centre at the age of 85 following a short period in the hospital. Charlie entred the world on February 7, 1927 at Vulcan, AB to proud parents LeRoy and Lavina FitzPatrick. Charlie was named after his two grandfathers Charles FitzPatrick and Norval Wilson. Charlie was raised on his parent’s farm in the Reid Hill district 20 miles east of Vulcan with his two sisters Lorraine and Eileene. He went to Prospect Slope School which was two and a half miles away then to Vulcan to school for grades 9-11. After passing grade 11 he went home to farm as his dad was ill. While in Vulcan, Charlie stayed at his aunt and uncle’s Art and Florence FitzPatrick and had several jobs; cleaning the theatre, washing dishes, peeling vegetables and cleaning in a restaurant. When Charlie returned to the farm he farmed his uncle Art’s farm also managing 7 quarters on his own as well as taking care of both his mother and father who were in ill health. In the winter he put fishing nets in Lake McGregor and sold his catch partly to his Uncle Charlie FitzPatrick who ran a shipping business to Chicago and to anyone who came along wanting to buy fish. He looked after his aunt Florence’s business and health affairs for several years. Charlie remained on the farm until 2009 when he moved to a seniors apartment in Vulcan. Charlie was predeceased by his mother Lavina Elizabeth Florence FitzPatrick (nee: Wilson); his father LeRoy FitzPatrick; his sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Bill Fletcher; sister Eileene Read; niece Barbara Banks; great niece Leslie Ann Banks and great nephew William Daniel Halbert. He is survived by brother-in-law Harvey Read; niece and her husband Dianne and David Halbert and their children Glen (Annette) Halbert and their children Tanner and Corbin, Darlene (Dana) Lafreniere and their children Hayden and Kaitlin. A Celebration of Charlie’s Life will be held on Saturday, June 16th at 2:00 p.m. and the Vulcan Evangelical Missionary Fellowship Church. CHOLLACK
BRIAN DAVID CHOLLACK, of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Jane Nygaard, passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at the age of 64 years.
Brian was born in Vulcan, AB on June 7, 1947 to Joe and Betty Chollack. He was the youngest of their three children. He spent the first four years in Lomond and in1951 the family moved to Lethbridge where Brian attended Westminster, Wilson Junior High and Churchill High Schools. Early in his adult years he found his lifelong passion – Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Riding became Brian’s greatest love.
He tried his hand at various jobs and eventually became head custodian at Gilbert Paterson Middle School where he was employed until his tragic bike accident in November 2005. His family has always believed that had it not been for Dr. Ali Zentner and his true love and soul mate – his wife Jane – he would not have survived this difficult time in his life. Although his lungs were severely injured in the accident, Brian remained the same kind hearted, jovial, stubborn, warm and friendly person he always was.
Besides his loving wife Jane, Brian is survived by Jane’s sons Josh and Kyle; his sister Jo (Bob) Snowden; his brother Richard (Doreen); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Brian was predeceased by his parents Joe and Betty Chollack.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Brian’s Life from 1:00 to 4:00pm on Friday, June 15, 2012 at THE ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION BRANCH #4, 324 Mayor Magrath Dr. South, Lethbridge.

ALAN RICHARD HNATIUK, of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 12th, 2012 at the age of 28 years.
Alan is survived by his parents, Richard & Kathy Hnatiuk of Lethbridge, one brother, David of Lethbridge, his special friend, Justin Payne, as well as his grandmother, Kay Forrest of Thunder Bay, Ontario, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Peter Hnatiuk, Mary Hnatiuk, John Forrest, and uncle, Peter Hnatiuk
His love of life and people touched the lives of all those who knew him. His quiet courage, strength of spirit, creativity and sense of humor will be carried forward by those who knew and loved him. Alan had a wonderful personality; full of laughter and the joy of life.
A service of remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 – Mayor Magrath Drive S., Lethbridge on Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at 10 am. Cremation, with a private interment at a later date.

JULIUS GAL 1934-2012
With great sadness we announce the passing of Julius Gal at the age of 77. Born in Stratton, Ontario on November 25, 1934, he lived nearly his entire life in Lethbridge. A carpenter by trade, he made numerous life-long friends through the job he loved so much, but his family was always his top priority. He is survived by his daughters Marie Stetar and Charlotte Johnson. His sons Jim(Cristina) and Tim (Deanna) and his grandchildren Brooke, Clinton, Dustin, Ethan and Tammany. His dedication, support and love will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Special thanks to St. Michael's Palliative Care for their help and compassion.

Harvey Albert Pommen, beloved husband of the late Helen Pommen, passed away
in Lethbridge on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the age of 96 years.

Christiansen, Shawna and Sarah Pommen, Keona and James Mackenzie-Grieve. He
is also survived by his brother Edward (Margaret) Pommen of Lethbridge;
brother-in-law Floyd Tomlinson of Kelowna; sister-in-law Dorothy Pommen of
Calgary.
He was predeceased by his wife Magdalena “Helen” in 2005; siblings William
Pommen, Elsie Morris, Tilley Pommen, Ida Matheson, Helen Hinton, Margaret
Tomlinson and Arthur Pommen.
Harvey was born in Moosehorn, Manitoba to Olga and Gottlieb Pommen. His
early years were spent on the family farm where he developed the skills he
would later use on his own farm. In 1943 he volunteered to serve Canada in
WWII and helped liberate Italy and Holland. He sustained gunshot and
shrapnel wounds and returned to Canada. After the war, he was able to farm
northeast of Taber where he married and raised his family. After retiring
from farming, he became an avid golfer and pursued the sport with great
enthusiasm well into his eighties. He eventually retired to Lethbridge where
he has resided until the time of his passing.

Sylvia Seredinski, born May 20, 1944, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge, June 6, 2012 at the age of 68 years. Sylvia is now reunited with her parents, brother Ken, sister Margaret and brother Bryan
Besides her loving husband Harry, Sylvia is survived by her loving daughter, Darla (Blaine) Owen and her loving son, Stacey Paul (Tonya) Seredinski; her grandchildren Malina, Mataya, Marek, Chelsea and Kamryn, along with three sisters, Loretta Goertzen of Calgary, Marie Oseen of Lethbridge and Patsy (Rick) Frappier of Coaldale; three brothers, Ron (Janet) Low of Lethbridge, Gordon (Valene) Low of Raymond and Boyd (Dorothy) Low of Lethbridge, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Sylvia is also survived by sister-in-law Shirley (Frank - deceased) Gross along with their children, Brian and Chrissy.
Sylvia was predeceased by her parents Clesson and Irene Low, oldest brother, Ken, youngest brother, Bryan and third oldest sister, Margaret as well as special nephew Shaun Oseen.
Sylvia (PeeWee), was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother in the lives of her extended family and will be fondly missed and remembered for her quiet disposition, easy, friendly, helpful ways and for her integrity and dedication to family. Sylvia was an avid bingo player at all bingo halls. In her younger years she worked as a food demonstrator and lounge worker. She greatly enjoyed taking care of her home, inside and out.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Central Church of Christ, 716-23 St. N, Lethbridge at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012, with Rev. Mark Noonan from Bridge City Church of the Nazarene officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date.

Lee was born at the Taber Hospital on November 13, 1977 to parents Julian
Jr. and Alice Carlin. He attended St. Mary’s High School in Taber,
Chamberlain School in Grassy Lake and graduated from ACE Place School in
Taber. During his school years, Lee enjoyed playing basketball, soccer and
tennis. Lee obtained his journeyman plumber and gasfitter certification and
thoroughly enjoyed his work at Taber Temp Plumbing & Heating. He
participated and enjoyed many sports and activities including waterskiing,
tennis, basketball, baseball, bowling, camping and snow skiing. Lee and his
dog Lucy were constant companions and enjoyed many hikes and runs through
the coulees. His extended family and countless friends valued and
appreciated his friendship and companionship and his constant positive
attitude and humour. Lee’s pleasant and outgoing personality will be missed
by all.
