WALTER F. BORAS, beloved husband of Fran Boras of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at the Edith Cavell Care Center in Lethbridge on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the age of 74 years.
A Prayer Service will be held at the OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Ave. S on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 7:00 P.M.

LESLIE
GEORGE THOMAS LESLIE, beloved husband of the late Valda Leslie (January 22, 2012) of Picture Butte, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the age of 90 years.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment service will be held at a later date.

MCDONALD
RANALD "RON" ALEXANDER MCDONALD of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Hella McDonald (nee Dahlstedt), passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Lethbridge Regional Hospital.
Ron is survived by his son Kevin, daughter in-law Christine and grandchildren Zachary and Bradley; step-son Darren and wife Mayumi; step-daughter Diane and step-grandchildren Zachariah and Jessica; brother in-law Ed; niece Colleen; nephew Michael and their families.
Ron was born and raised in rural Kenyon Township in Ontario, started a family with his first wife Anne (Dec. 1989) in Roxboro Quebec while working for the CNR. In 1968 the family relocated to British Columbia where he started work in the steel industry which he continued until retirement. With his second wife Hella, Ron retired to Lethbridge in 1998 where he remained until his passing.
Throughout his life, Ron shared his passion of the outdoors with his family. Most weekends would see him camping, fishing, and boating throughout British Columbia and beyond. Always willing to lend a hand, Ron’s handyman skills were regularly put to use among his friends. Regular impromptu music sessions at the family home instilled his son’s love of music. Dogs were an important part of Ron’s life and Meeko provided great companionship in his final years. Ron will be remembered for his gentle nature, generosity, wonderful laugh, and unwavering devotion to his two wives.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, February 19, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, with Deacon Mike Hazelwood officiating. Inurnment to follow at a later date at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317 – 10 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 9Z9.

POWLESLAND
The family of Raymond Sidney Powlesland is sad to announce his passing on February 13th, 2012 at the age of 89 years. Ray was born January 13th, 1923 in Milk River, AB to Bernard and Effie Powlesland.
Ray was raised on the family farm in Del Bonita, AB where he lived until his retirement upon which he moved to Lethbridge, AB.
As a young man Ray competed in baseball, slow pitch and track & field all of which he won many awards in. He loved the outdoors and all it had to offer such as hunting, fishing and spending much time in Waterton Lakes National Park. He was an accomplished cattleman and horseman, and was proud of the prize winning registered purebred Hereford cattle that he raised for many years. Ray enjoyed participating in activities of the Del Bonita community, and held many executive positions in the various organizations there.
Ray is survived by his children: Linda (Frank) Hoyt, Debbie (Greg) Henry, Terry Powlesland, Gene (Vicki) Powlesland, Vicky Harris, and Shelley (Colin Sturm) Powlesland. His grandchildren: Todd, Rory, and Ronald Hoyt; Kandace (Mehew), Marla, and Greg Henry; Ashley Vanek; Corey, Brandy, Jaydn, Karli, Casey, and Capri Powlesland; Nicholas, Brandon, and Brittany Harris; and his 19 great grandchildren. He is also survived by friend Esther Silver and family, sister Grace Widgill, and a large extended family.
Ray was predeceased by wife Mary (Greep), wife Frances (Willmott), daughter in-law Dawn Powlesland, granddaughter Mary Henry, grandson Darren Powlesland, brothers Glen and Bert Powlesland, and sister Irene Brophy.

The Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garden Place Chapel, Magrath, Alberta on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m.

RODGERS
RONALD MYRLE RODGERS, passed away peacefully in Cardston, AB on Sunday, February 12, 2012, after a three year battle with kidney disease. He will be dearly missed by his wife Maxine, the family and many friends.
Ronald was born 22 May 1932 in Stavely, Alberta and lived there until he graduated from high school. After he served a two year mission in the Northwestern States, he met and married Maxine Pilling and they made their home in Calgary where he worked as Paymaster for the City of Calgary for 21 years. The family then moved to Red Deer and for the next 11 years he was paymaster for the Red Deer Regional Hospital. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints he served as President of the Red Deer District and later as Patriarch there. Upon retirement, Ron and Maxine moved to Cardston, Alberta and in 1991 went on an 18 month mission to Birmingham, Alabama. They were then privileged to serve for 14 years in the Cardston Alberta Temple.
He was loved, respected and will be missed by his six children; Kenneth (Leslie) Rodgers of Calgary, Karen (Allen) Paterson and Rhonda Rodgers of Red Deer, Kay Larene Rodgers and Myrle (Jackie) Rodgers of Lethbridge, Brent (Lorena) Rodgers of Magrath. Also mourning his passing are 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, besides several well loved nieces and nephews, cousins and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation of Canada or Humanitarian Aid directed by the L.D.S. Church.
The Funeral Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Temple Street Chapel, Cardston, Alberta on Friday, February 17th, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop William Wolff officiating.
Friends may meet the family from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the Service. Interment in the Leavitt Cemetery.
