ALMA "ROWENE" KUHL
October 25, 1923 ~ October 20, 2012
Alma was born in Cardston and moved to Milk River as a baby. She lived there all her life except for a few years in Ft. Saskatchewan. She married Cliff Kuhl in 1941, and was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She loved to play the piano, sing, knit, crochet, read and play cards.
She is survived by her children Robert (Joan) of Milk River, Lynette (Ronald) Ingram-Johnson of Fort Saskatchewan, and Patricia Barth of Sterling, Idaho; brother Lloyd (Vicki) Koller; sisters-in-law Maxine Koller, Mildred Bellew, and Dorothy Thielen; thirteen grandchildren and twenty five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Cliff, son Cliff Jr., and brother George Koller.
We extend a heartfelt thank-you to all the considerate, kind, caring, helpful staff and volunteers of the Prairie Rose Lodge, Milk River Extended Care, hospital staff, and Dr. Liesl Lewke-Bogle.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, October 29, 2012 at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Milk River, with Father Dominic Nguyen officiating. Burial to follow the service in the Milk River Cemetery.

MRS. KATHY AMBRUS of Lethbridge, beloved wife of the late Mr. Elmer Ambrus, passed away at St. Michael’s Care Centre on Friday, October 26, 2012 at the age of 81 years.
Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, October 29, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 12th Avenue South, Lethbridge.

BANKONIN
MARGA BANKONIN, beloved wife of Alex Bankonin of Coaldale, passed away at home on Saturday, October 20, 2012, at the age of 77 years.
Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her daughters: Carmen Bankonin and Christine Bankonin; and brother Gunther Hesse of Germany. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Andreas Bankonin, her mother Else Hesse and stepfather Arthur Podletski.
Marga was born and raised in Vienenburg, Germany and met Alex at the age of 15. In 1956, she immigrated to Canada to marry Alex, and a few years later, they started their own farm in Raymond, Alberta. In 1962 they moved to Coaldale, purchased land, and farmed there. This is where they resided until 2011, at which point they retired from farming and moved into the town of Coaldale. Marga’s family was close to her heart. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A Viewing will be held at 10:00 A.M. on October 29, 2012 at Cornerstone Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, October 29, 2012 at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB.
A private family interment will occur following the funeral service.

BRODERSON
MRS. KATHY ANN BRODERSON, beloved wife of Mr. Brent Broderson, passed away at the St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre, on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at the age of 54 years, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Kathy was born in Calgary, AB on July 1, 1958 and at a very young age lived in P.E.I. for 5 years.
She then came back to live in Calgary in 1963 and in 1981 moved to Lethbridge. Brent and Kathy met in 1996 and were married July 15, 2000, Kathy worked for a few years at CIBC and TD Banks and in 2002 started working at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital in the Food Services Division, while at the same time helped Brent with their business, Chinook Country Moving Company Ltd. Many co-workers became long time friends.
Kathy is survived by a brother Charles (Ellen) Heater and their family, Tara (Cam) and Dustin Heater, and special aunt Elsie Magrath. She is survived by son Gord (Alyssa) Kayden and Kingston Anderson, step daughter Dawn (Bob) Anna, Riley, Wyatt, and Duncan and stepson James (Jac) of Winnipeg, along with Brent’s kids Brad (Kim) Bryce and Brayden. Jason and son Cohen, plus numerous family and friends in BC, AB, SK, MB, ON, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins in P.E.I and Alberta
She is survived by Brent’s mom Ethel Broderson and family Bryan (Donna) Broderson, Bruce (Kathy) Broderson, Brenda (Garry) Gillespie, Terry (Trina) Broderson and their families.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents Mildred and Vaughn, step-father Elmer Heater, grandparents, father-in-law Lloyd Broderson, niece Robin Broderson, as well as 7 aunts and uncles and 2 cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at McKILLOP UNITED CHURCH 2329 – 15th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Aldeen McKay officiating.

GLIEGE
On Wednesday, October 24, 2012, DUANE GLIEGE, beloved husband of Lucille, was welcomed into the arms of his Heavenly Father.
Duane was admitted into the hospital Monday, October 15, 2012 with complications arising from pneumonia. Nine days later, Duane was released from all suffering to be surrounded by those who predeceased him, his parents Toby and Irene Gliege; infant daughter Deborah Faye; three brothers-in-law Arnold Hanson, Ross Greiner and Wes Schierman.
Duane is survived by his three sons Brad (Sheila), Brian (Kathy), Jeff (Allison); his two step-daughters Janay Bates and Dawna-Rae (Brent) Friesen: eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sisters June Hanson, Fern Greiner, Adela (Ben) Kolk, and Lucille Schierman; four nieces and six nephews; mother and father-in-law Shirley and Sandy Friesen.
Duane was a vibrant member of the Lethbridge community, working in the Life Insurance business and involved in bringing the Cheesecake Cafe and Firestone Restaurants to our city.
Duane will be remembered for his great laugh, his huge hugs, his love of people and his faith in God. He was well loved and will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 3:00pm and 5:00pm on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.

HOFER, Faye Marvion
1917-2012
Faye Marvion (Sage) Hofer, resident of Sylvan Lake Bethany Care Society passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at the age of 96 years. Faye was born September 30, 1917 in Sceptre, Saskatchewan. She raised her three sons in Bow Island, Alberta. Faye is survived by her son, Daniel Lee Hofer of Red Deer County, Alberta; four grandchildren: Matthew and Clayton Hofer of Lethbridge, Alberta; Diane and Kristian Hofer of Kelowna, British Columbia; and three great grandchildren: Xavier, Hailey and Max Hofer, of Lethbridge. Faye was predeceased by her husband, Roland Walter Hofer in 1965; two sons, Donald Roland Hofer and Richard Harold Hofer. VAN SETERS
ELMA VAN SETERS, wife of Jake Van Seters Sr. of Coaldale, was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, Oct. 24th, 2012, at the age of 83.
Elma was born and raised in the Netherlands, where for many years nursing was her chosen profession. In 1973 she immigrated to Canada to marry widower Jake Van Seters, and together they spent 40 years living in the communities of Lethbridge and Coaldale.
Elma was devoted to her husband and their extended family, as well as to the Canadian Reformed Church of Coaldale, of which she and Jake were faithful members. She also enjoyed spending time at their summer home in Point Roberts, WA, from where they visited the BC branch of the family.
Elma will be laid to rest in the Coaldale Cemetery during a family service, and a public Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 27th, 2012 in the CANADIAN REFORMED CHURCH OF COALDALE, Highway 3W, Coaldale, Alberta. The service will be led by Reverend D. Poppe, who has been a great support to Jake and Elma the last few years.
