CHIZEK
EMIL EDWARD CHIZEK NOV. 16, 1922 – OCT. 20th 2011

EMIL EDWARD CHIZEK of Lethbridge Alberta passed away at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre Thursday October 20th at the age of 88 years. Emil was born on the family farm in the Laura/ Delisle district in Saskatchewan. He a ttended the Spion Kopp school and on completion of his education began farming. He spent most of his life in the Delisle area. In his younger years he was an avid baseball and hockey player getting to these events summer and winter, on his horse. In his adult years his interest in sports continued when he enjoyed curling, golf, horseshoes and fishing in northern Saskatchewan. In 1963 Emil was on the curling team which represented Saskatchewan at the Massey Ferguson’ Curlorama in’ Toronto. Emil was also very active in minor hockey travelling to many surrounding communities with the teams and refereeing – even though he didn’t have boys. He also enjoyed cards, spending many hours playing bridge with his friends.
Emil was very active in the community. His "easy manner" and carpentry skills were instrumental in many community projects, such as – the town hall, rink, United Church and United Church manse and most recently the Senior’s Centre.
In 2000 Emil and Besse moved to Lethbridge to be closer to their family, and here they made many new friends.
Emil is survived by his wife of 66 years, Besse and three daughters Peggy (Don) Egroff, Carel Lynn (Roy) MacLeod and Pat Chizek. Four grandchildren Derek, Jordan (Roxanne), Janiel and Karly and six great grandchildren Ashley, Kyle, Rylee, Addison, Brady and Teana. Two sisters in - law Mary Beznoska and Beth Chizek and brother in - law Grant Vawter. He was predeceased by his parents, Anton and Anna Chizek, two sisters Peg Souster, Helen Vawter and two brothers Albert and George, and several in-laws.
There was a small family gathering Saturday October 22nd to recognize and celebrate Emil’s life. Interment in Saskatchewan will follow at a later date. DAINARD
With reverence and deep sadness, we announce the sudden and tragic passing of RENZO NATHANIEL ADVINCULA DAINARD (November 2, 1994 to October 16, 2011)
Beloved and Only son of Kelly and Rowena Dainard and Awesome and Loving brother to Patricia, Cassandra and Erica (deceased).
Special Grandson to Clark James Dainard (deceased) and Carol Patey (Dainard)-Gurr (Grant) and Virgilio Advincula (deceased) and Imelda Advincula.
Renzo’s life was surrounded by Uncles, Aunts and Cousins (here and in the Philippines)
Sadly...too numerous to mention!
Renzo had special talents. He loved soccer, photography, dreamed of car design and wanted to become an aerospace engineer. He had several rare qualities about him, including loyalty, a loving heart, joyful spirit, quick wit and an addictive sense of humour. His most recent quote: “I LOVE LIFE!”
Renzo’s influence is palpable, as family, friends, peers and community come together. He was everyone's BEST Friend.
Gratitude is expressed for the continuous out-pouring of gifts of self, kindness, food, flowers, hugs and tears of empathy.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, MAGRATH STAKE CENTRE, 21 East, 1st Avenue South, Magrath, AB on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held in the CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS, MAGRATH STAKE CENTRE, 21 East, 1st Avenue South, Magrath, AB on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Bishop Clay Boyes officiating.
A viewing will be held at the church prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. – 1:30 P.M.
In lieu of flowers an in memory of Renzo, donations may be made to the Magrath Alberta Treasury Branch, 82 - 1 Avenue SW, Magrath, Alberta, TOK 1J0.
