Bernice as she was known to her family took over the role of Mom to her grandsons and siblings.
Bernice was always one to bring laughter and silliness to everyone she met and made friends with all the people she encountered. She was generous and would give whatever she had to whoever needed. She was always a great listener and would give advice based on her life experience. She always gave genuine praise to everyone's accomplishments . Bernice loved her husband so much that she never remarried and dedicated her life to making sure her beloved grandsons were taken care of. She took great pride in her grandsons Theoren and Larmer's hockey achievements, and would attend games whenever she can, she was also proud to ask Dryden to show off his chicken dance moves to all her guests and was looking forward to watching him dance in the summer. She loved her brothers and sisters a great deal, and was always happiest when spending time with all her close and extended family. She and her best friend Veronica Eagle Bear were a mischievous pair in residential school. Despite her disability she was never one to rely on anyone for anything she needed. She had a great deal of respect for all religions, but always prayed her rosaries and kept them at her side, and also encouraged her boys to always pray. She will be missed by her warm embraces and the love she extended to all.
We the family would like to give special thanks to Ronnie and Kelly Thunder Chief for all the help they provided to Bernice. The Doctors and Nurses at unit 4C for their care and compassion for Bernice and her family.
