HALEY
Jeanette Mae Haley (Johnson)
October 18, 1926 – November 14, 2012
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Jeanette Mae Haley on November 14, 2012 at St. Michael’s Health Centre in Lethbridge after a short illness. Jeanette was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband Alexander (Al) of Lethbridge; stepson Bernie Haley (Marilyn) of Parksville brothers Lloyd Johnson of Edmonton, Al Johnson (Bev) of Nanaimo; Jim Johnson (Rose) of Pincher Creek; as well as her nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her parents John and Sarah Johnson; husband Ernie and sister-in-law Doris.
Prior to retirement, Jeanette was employed for many years by Nova in Calgary. There she established herself in various positions where she was respected for her hard work and dedication and more importantly she was a trusted friend and colleague. Jeanette moved to Pincher Creek in 1994 where she and Al were married. It was a time of great joy for both. They have resided in Lethbridge since 2009.
Jeanette and Al enjoyed their travels and particularly an ancestry trip to the Ukraine and Norway which brought them some very special memories. Jeanette was a very welcoming hostess in their home and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She was a warm, fun, classy and special lady, adored and loved by many.
We love you darling Jeanette and will greatly miss you.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20th, 2012 at PINCHER CREEK COMMUNITY HALL, 287 Canyon Drive, Pincher Creek, AB, with Reverend Brent Woodard, Officiating. Inurnment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Jeanette’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2M7.

JOHNSTON
MICHAEL DOUGLAS JOHNSTON, passed away suddenly in Magrath on Friday, November 9th, 2012 at the age of 58 years, beloved husband of Melodie Johnston.
Michael was born in London, Ontario on August 26th, 1954, growing up in Delhi, Ontario, moving to Alberta in 1975.
Michael held a journeyman parts certificate and worked for Marlborough Ford Sales, Renfrew Chrysler, Hi-way Service, College Mercury. Over time Michael sold cars for Peter Pocklington, Taber Ford, Woodridge Lincoln Mercury and College Mercury.
Michael had a BA in History and Anthropology and a B ED in Social Studies. He taught TOEFL and ESL in Korea, then taught at schools in Fraser Lake BC, College of New Caledonia BC, Westwinds School Division, Siksika Nation, Leader Composite School, Sask. and ending up at Robert Warren Junior High teaching English, Social Studies and Industrial Arts.
He had several hobbies including becoming a guide for Alpine Stables (Waterton Park). Loving anything to do with horses.
After surviving radiation and chemotherapy for cancer, he started his own bucket list of touring the world going to India, Nepal, Spain, Portugal, North Africa, Korea, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia and Australia.
Michael is survived by his wife Melodie Johnston, daughter Chynna (Shawn Cody Passey), grandchildren Caitlyn and Jeremy, his first wife Rosemary Barnutz and their children Jason (Heather) Barnutz, grandchildren Trevor and Stephanie, daughter Crystal (Brian) Riech and grandchildren Joshua, Matthew and Jonathan. His mother Barbara Johnston and siblings Pat (Darlene) Johnston, Mitchell (Joanne) Johnston, Wendy (Roger) Tremblay. Many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his father Douglas Johnston, Father-in-law Walter Andrews and grandson Jonah Riech.
The Memorial Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Garden Place Chapel, in Magrath, on Saturday, November 17th, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop John Balderson officiating. Friends may meet the family after the Memorial Service. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

MATHESON, Farquhar Harold (Frank)
August 22, 1927 - November 14, 2012
Frank Matheson, beloved husband of Patricia, passed away on November 14, 2012, with his family at his side. Frank was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1927. On June 30, 1949 he married Patricia and soon after started a family. They resided in Edmonton, Lethbridge, Calgary, Billings MT and High River for the next 63 years. Frank was a Truck Driver for most of those years, hauling people for Greyhound early in his career and freight for Kingsway, Porter and Safeway. Over his career, he received several safe driving commendations and awards. He was a true gentleman; kind, generous, intelligent and curious. He was a voracious reader; always up to date on current events. Most important though, was his Bible. Frank read his bible every day and loved to quote from it. He was a farmer, a cowboy and a tinkerer. He was humble, but proud of his roots and of his family. He was gracious, always able to engage those around him. Frank loved a good joke and told a great story. He was a dreamer and all of his dreams have now come true. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Margaret and by his brothers, Gordon and Maurice. He is survived by his wife Patricia, his children Don (Jenny), Gorde (Linda), Rod (Germaine), Bill, Franquie Parkinson (Leigh) and his grandchildren Heather, Dylan, Gordyn, Austyn, Murdoch and Taylor. The family would like to express our deepest appreciation to the Nurses and staff at the High River Hospital, especially in the Emergency Department and the 3rd floor where Frank spent his last days. As well, we are truly blessed to have had Dr. Sarah Bell-Dingwall with us over the past year. She is an outstanding and compassionate Doctor who took great care of Frank. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the High River Hospital Foundation (560 9th Ave. SW, High River, AB, T1V 1B3). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 27th at 11:00 a.m. at the High River United Church with lunch to follow. ROLLINGSON
FLORENCE PATRICIA ROLLINGSON of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully at her home in Legacy Lodge on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at the age of 89 years.
She is the loving mother of Bill Jr. (Kathy) of Lethbridge, and the grandmother of Bill III of Lethbridge and Pat (Dave) Olson of Stettler, AB. She is also survived by three great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Bill, her parents Matt and Mary Sweda and her brother Larry Sweda.
Florence spent most of her life in Lethbridge. She married Bill in 1939, and together they opened the Lethbridge Harley-Davidson and Western U-Drive business. She worked for the F. W. Woolworth Co. for many years as well. Eventually the family business became Bill’s Esso Service and Hertz Rent-A-Car. They retired the business in 1965, and Florence returned to Woolworth’s for a few more years.
An avid bowler in both five and ten pins, Florence won many awards. She was a quality knitter and loved fishing, hunting, camping and jeeping with family and friends. She was also one of the founding members of the Lethbridge Coulee Kruzers Jeep Club. Florence’s active senior life was cut short by Alzheimers. She will always be remembered for her loving ways and kindness.
At Florence’s request, there will be no funeral. Interment at the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge.
