MRS. FROUWKE DYKSTRA (nee De Vries) of Coaldale, beloved wife of the late Mr. Harm Dykstra, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the age of 92 years.
Frouwke was born on January 31, 1920 in Uithuizermeden, Holland. Oma, as she was affectionately known, married the love of her life, Harm Dykstra, on April 25, 1941 in Holland. They immigrated to Smithers, BC in October 1954 and then moved to Coaldale, Alberta in the spring of 1971. Oma enjoyed camping, gardening, cooking, and knitting. She had a tremendous sense of humour and her wit was legendary, as the nurses who took care of her the last few years can attest to.
Frouwke is survived by her daughters Margaret Van Dyk of Coaldale and Jenny (Gerry) Boonstra of Smithers, BC; grandchildren John (Joyce) Van Dyk, Marian (Bill) Tamminga, Linda (Dave) Moedt, Monica (Corny) Van Dasselaar, Irene (Martin) Harthoorn, Phil Van Dyk, Betty Ann Eisele, Ellymae (Rod) Boonstra, Brenda (Jim) Grant and Debbie (Brad) Arnette; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Besides her beloved husband Harm, Frouwke was predeceased by her parents, son-in-law Peter Van Dyk, grandchild Yvonne Elizabeth Van Dyk, two brothers and one sister.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 7:00 pm and 8:00pm on Friday, December 14, 2012 at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the TRINITY REFORMED CHURCH, 1100 – 40 Ave North, Lethbridge, with Reverend Wybren Oord officiating. A Private Interment will be held prior to the service in the Coaldale Community Cemetery.

FOSTER
MR. GORDON FOSTER, 89, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Piyami Place in Picture Butte. Gordon was born on October 23, 1923 in Commerce, Alberta and spent his life on the family farm west of Picture Butte.
Gordon leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter Pat (Bob) Jarvie; grandson Jonathan Jarvie; granddaughter Kendra Jarvie all of Lethbridge; sisters Merle Atkinson of Lethbridge, Lorna Murray, Wilda Murray, sister-in-law Alice Foster all of Picture Butte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife Dorothy; son Ken Foster; parents George and Ruth Foster; brothers Norman, Allan, and Art; brothers-in-law Jim Murray, Charles Murray and Bob Atkinson; sisters-in-law Jolly and Marge; also by Dorothy’s parents John and Margaret Watson.
Gordon has resided the last few years at Piyami Lodge in Picture Butte and it was truly "home." The family would like to thank all the staff at the lodge for the excellent care bestowed upon Gordon. They not only saw to his daily needs but treated him and loved him as if he were their own. The compassion and care that was received from these caregivers cannot be surpassed. We truly thank you. Also thank you to Dr. Mohamed; companions Mia, Rachel, and Sandi; and home care coordinator Mona Dueck, for their care, concern and support.
Cremation and a private graveside service will follow at a later date.
Remember Gordon not with sadness, but with the memory of the "twinkle" in his eye and the "giggles" that were so much part of him these last few years.

JAMES
BRYAN CLARK JAMES of Lethbridge, formerly of Winnipeg, passed away with his family at his side, at the age of 78 years, following a lengthy illness.
Bryan is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carol, daughter, Karen (Darryl) Kroeker and son, David; he is also survived by brother, Keith (Ollie) as well as nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Clarence, mother, Emma and brothers Ralph and Lloyd.
Bryan worked 33 years for Manitoba Telephones, retiring in 1988 to his love of horses. Bryan and Carol moved to Lethbridge in 1998.
The family would like to extend grateful thanks to all the staff at St. Michael’s Palliative Care for their loving care and support during Bryan’s stay.
A private, family service will be held at a later date.
