AINSCOUGH
GRANT LEE, age 86 years, passed away peacefully at Vancouver General
Hospital on July 15, 2012.
He is survived by his children: Tom (Heather), Chris (Nicole), Kathy
(Steve), Louise (Scott), and Grandchildren: Jaki, William, Grady,
Maximilian, and Josephine and predeceased by his wife, Jacquie.
Grant was born 1926 in Cardston, Alberta to parents William George Ainscough
and Zina (Peterson). The family moved to MacLeod and then on to Lethbridge,
where he finished school at Lethbridge Collegiate. In 1944 he joined the
Canadian Army, with special training at Petawawa, Ont. And Shilo, Man.
After graduating from UBC Forestry, Class of ¹51, he had a long career;
first with the BC Forest Service and then MacMillan Bloedel. Grant retired
as the Vice President of Forestry, receiving many awards and with an
Arboretum named in his honour. He was a passionate forester and directly and
indirectly helped plant millions of trees with MB and the Tree Canada
Foundation.
Ready to be reunited with Jacquie, his wife of 57 years, he dreamed of going
swimming with her in the ocean, taking her dancing, and riding off in a
Cadillac.

JEANETTE SVEA GILBERTSON of Lethbridge passed away peacefully on Tuesday,
July 31, 2012 at the age of 91 years.
Jeanette is survived by her daughter Joyce Bennett of Vancouver; son Gordon
(Linda) Skoog of Vancouver; three grandchildren Steven, Eric, and Sandra;
sister Myrtle Wiense; brother Elvin Peterson; as well as numerous nieces,
nephews and their families.

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear mom, grandma
and great grandma at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her loving
husband Doug in 1992 and her parents Charles and Kathleen (Loree) Masson.
She is survived by her children Grant (Colleen) Frier, Cathie Mitchell,
Suzan (Eric) Geisreiter, and Shari (Frank) De Coste; her grandchildren Kelly
(Tom) Mortlock, Shannon (Cheyno) Finnie, Jennifer (Derek) Duke, Christine
Geisreiter, Michael De Coste and Derek De Coste; and her great-grandchildren
Marcus, Russell, Nathyn and Jordan Mortlock, Marshall, Emmitt and Payton
Finnie and Naia Duke.
Marge was born and raised in Lethbridge and lived here all her life. Mom
cherished her family and the times spent together with them. She especially
enjoyed being a grandma and grandma-great.
A private family service will be held at her request.

IMESON
MRS. MARGARET CATHERINE IMESON (nee Astle), beloved wife of the late Mr. Wm
Rex Imeson, passed away in Lethbridge on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the age
of 96 years.
Margaret was born in Prince Albert Saskatchewan to John and Catherine Astle
on October 3, 1915 and moved with her family to Lethbridge in 1922. She
spent the remainder of her life in Lethbridge and Coalhurst.
Margaret is survived by her son Larry (Ora deceased) of Lethbridge and their
sons Darcy (Roberta Saga) of Sparwood, BC and Jeff of Coalhurst; her son
Marvin (Colleen) of Lethbridge and their children Jody (Paul Beaubin) of
Calgary and Wade of Saskatoon, SK. Missing her are also her
great-grandchildren Rhianna and Triston Meilleur, Spencer Imeson and Sheadin
Imeson.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren (Larry¹s children) Cynthia (Neil)
Meilleur and Cameron Imeson of Ottawa; her parents and all of her siblings
sisters Mildred Wood, Alice (Duncan) Chalmers, Florence (Mike) Duda,
Beatrice (Slim) Owre and brothers Joe (May), Bill, and Gordon (Rita) Astle.
Margaret was raised and attended school in Lethbridge and worked for several
retail business before retiring from Sears and spent much of her retirement
working in her yard and garden. She enjoyed traveling, visiting family and
friends and always looked forward to visiting a good restaurant for an
enjoyable meal. Margaret was a gracious host and always had a pot to tea and
treats for all her visitors and enjoyed their company and hearing all the
latest happenings.
Margaret was a resident of Park Meadows Good Samaritans since January 2009.
Her family would like to thank the staff there for providing exemplary care
and companionship in her years there, especially those in Cottage 7 where
she resided.
At Margaret¹s requested there will be a private family service. The family
requests if desired that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to your
favourite charity.

OLIVER
DORIS REVINA OLIVER (BROADHURST), adored wife, mother, grandmother and great
grandmother, passed away Aug. 1, 2012 at age 81 after a life filled with
love and kindness.
Born in Saskatchewan on Jan. 23, 1931, Doris moved as a child with her
family to Kimberley, B.C. where she attended school and where she later met
her future husband Golden (Goldy) Oliver. She and Goldy moved to Lethbridge
to start a family and a family business (Central Electric) where Doris
worked until her retirement.
When she wasn't working or spending time with family, Doris kept busy with
the Alberta Social Credit Party, with the Lethbridge Auxiliary Hospital
where she volunteered and at the Lethbridge Country Club where she proved
you don't have to be big to hit the ball straight. She was also an
accomplished gardener, tomato and raspberry grower and a great fan of old
movies with an encyclopedic knowledge of actors and actresses.
In later years, she demonstrated great courage and humour despite physical
struggles, accepting whatever came with remarkable grace. Her strength of
mind made her inspirational to many she encountered.
Doris is survived by son Brian (Sharon) Oliver, daughter Lynda (D'Arcy)
Kavanagh; grandchildren Rhonda (Cheech) Cioffi, Renae (Dave) Kapala, Jason
Varzari, Andrea Varzari (Tim Lyczewski), Keely (Rick) Semenuik; great
granddaughter Alexis Cioffi; nieces and nephews; and four granddogs. (Doris
was a lifelong dog lover/dogsitter and all the dogs thought she was just a
big cookie.) Doris was predeceased by husband Goldy, her mother, father,
three brothers and a sister.
A Celebration of Doris' Life will be held on Tuesday, August 7th at
CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to THE HUMANE SOCIETY (SPCA),
2920-16 Avenue North, Lethbridge, Alberta, T1H 5E9.
The family would like to thank Dr. Alan McPherson and his assistant Leanne
