Unofficial results from last night’s Kainai/Blood Tribe election shows Charles Weasel Head back as chief for another term.

Weasel Head gathered 1,216 votes to win the six-man race, while Al Black Water was the top vote getter among councillors, as he picked up 926 votes.
Joining Black Water on council will be, Billy Wadsworth (760 votes), Dexter Bruised Head (534), Nolan Little Bear (503), Marcel Weasel Head (492), Dorothy First Rider (488), Frank Black Plume (453), MIke Bruised Head (448), Franklin White Quills (429), Myron Eagle Speaker (427), Lance Tailfeathers (406) and Robin Little Bear (395).
Three incumbents return from last term’s 12-person council, including Bruised Head, Weasel Head and White Quills, while the six other incumbents that ran for office were not re-elected for another term.
