Time running out to hit outdoor pools

Print PDF

The end is near for locals looking to hit Lethbridge's outdoor pools. With the fall approaching, the city announced today that two local outdoor pools are preparing for their shut-downs over the next few weeks.
Westminster Community Pool, located at 411 16 Street North, will see its last day on Wednesday, Aug. 29.  Their schedule for the day includes regular programming from noon-7 p.m. including the normal prizes and games that take place every Wednesday as part of the Whacky Wednesday’s that have been taking place this summer. To end the season, they will be having a midnight swim that evening from 8 p.m.-midnight, and will include the live band, Vista Park.
Henderson Lake Outdoor Pool will stay open through the long weekend with the last day of swimming being on Labour Day – Monday Sept. 3, with hours of 1-7 p.m. that day.  If the weather is poor and the pool cannot be open, Nicholas Sheran Pool will be opened from 1-4 p.m. for open swim and 4-5 p.m. for condition swim.
For pool schedules, please visit www.lethbridge.ca and follow the links to either the Recreation and Culture Guide or under the Things To Do tab on the website.
