Stopanski to wait until next month for bail hearing

Print PDF

A decision on whether a Medicine Hat man accused of second-degree will be released on bail will have to wait until next month.
Jerrison Herve Stopanski, 34, is accused of the homicide of 22-year-old Amy Lenora Lewis in June of this year.

Queen's Bench Justice William Tilleman commented that following a day-and-half of witness testimony, presentations of exhibits as well as Crown and defence submissions, he will reserve his decision until Nov. 9.
Lewis was last heard from by friends and family on June 11.
A three-week search for the woman by agencies across southern Alberta proved fruitless.
City police and the Crown believe the woman is deceased but no body has been recovered.
Evidence presented at the bail hearing is under a court-ordered publication ban.
