The Lethbridge Regional Police Service has determined the death of a 62-year-old man, who died in a house fire over the weekend, is non-suspicious.
Last Saturday at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Lethbridge Fire Department responded to a fire at a bungalow along the 700 block of 11th Street South. Upon searching the residence, firefighters located a body inside. The scene was subsequently secured by police.

The body of the victim, who was the lone occupant of the home, was transported to Calgary to the Medical Examiner’s office where an autopsy was completed yesterday. Foul play has been ruled out in the man’s death, however, the case will remain open pending toxicology and other results.
Following investigation by members of the Lethbridge Fire Prevention Bureau, the origin of the fire was found to be the back living room on the main floor. Due to extensive damage, the exact cause cannot be determined, said the police in a press release.
As this is not a criminal case, police department said it will not release any further information, including the identity of the victim.
