Parkade suicide prompts investigation

A suicide on hospital property Saturday morning has prompted Alberta Health Services to investigate.
A 46-year-old man died around 7 a.m. after he apparently jumped from the upper level of the parkade outside Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge regional police said. Police said they believed the death to be a suicide and are not releasing the man's identity. He was pronounced dead in the hospital's emergency room.
In a Saturday afternoon news release, Alberta Health Services they will look into the case with help from police.
"AHS will conduct an internal review to determine what, if anything, should or could be done to prevent similar incidents in future. The results of that internal review will be shared with the family," the release stated.
