Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland was placed on complete vocal rest for 48 hours Tuesday morning due to strained vocal chords, thus forcing the cancellation of the band’s scheduled performance in Lethbridge tonight.
A statement was released saying: “the cancellation of Lethbridge will allow STP to finish the remaining dates of their Summer 2012 tour.”
“Ticket sales were exactly what we had wanted them to be,” said Lana Barlow, sales, marketing and ticket manager for the Enmax Centre.
“Unfortunately this was something that was made by the band and we at the Enmax Centre had no control over it.”
The band performed in Abbotsford, B.C. Monday night but went on more than 90 minutes late, prompting many fans to leave and negative reaction from those who waited.
STP is scheduled to play in Las Vegas Thursday night.
Ticket refunds for the Lethbridge show are available at the Enmax Centre’s northeast box office for cash, debit and credit card orders or by calling the ticket centre at 403-329-SEAT for credit card purchases.
There will not be a rescheduled date.
