The Helen Schuler Nature Centre today received the largest personal donation in its 31-year history.
Cor Van Raay of Iron Springs, made a $10,000 donation to the centre, which will be used to develop new, permanent exhibits once the facility renovation and expansion is completed.
According a press release from the centre, one of the exhibits will feature a section on how our modern landscape was formed, an exhibit which will provide information on how the geological past has shaped agriculture in our communities.
“As a farmer and someone who loves to spend time enjoying the outdoors, I am very happy to make this contribution to an organization that teaches people about our landscape, and how valuable it is,” said Van Raay.
