Essay winner

Kelsey Cartwright, right, an environmental science major at the University of Lethbridge, is the winning writer of the Population in Sync essay contest organized by Global Population Speak Out. Valorie M. Allen, who has been participating with the organization since it was founded three years ago, recently awarded Cartwright with a $300 cheque and certificate. The contest asked University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College students to write a 950-1,000-word essay about how things will change when the world popuation starts decreasing. Cartwright's essay is available on the GPSO website, www.populationspeakout.org.
