Richard Peltier had a suspicion he and his wife might be holding onto a lottery ticket worth some money.
When Richard saw there was a $100,000 EXTRA winner in Alberta for the Oct. 26 draw and his numbers matched, he needed a second opinion.

Richard took his ticket and a stack of others to the store the day after the draw. When he checked it on the self-checker, it came up as a winner. He then gave it to the retailer who confirmed the win.
“I texted my wife, Priscilla, but she didn’t hear her phone,” said Richard. “So I called her and asked her, ‘What do you think about my text?’ ” he said. “I thought, ‘Is this true?!’ ” Priscilla said.
The Peltiers plan to pay some bills, move and share with their family. He bought the winning ticket at 7-Eleven Food Store located at 2004-Mayor Magrath Dr. S.
