The bail hearing of the man accused of a second-degree murder of a Medicine Hat nursing student was filled with more than 20 family and friends of the woman who went missing in June.
Detailed evidence against Jerrison Stopanksi in relation to the death of Amy Lewis, 22, presented during the morning court session of the hearing expected to last the entire day was heard but can can't be reported due to a publication ban.
Lewis last spoke to friends on June 11 but has not been seen or heard from since and is presumed dead.
Medicine Hat resident Stopanski was arrested on June 15 and has been in custody since.
Evidence as well as Crown and defence submissions are expected to wrap up this afternoon with the possibility of a release decision also being made by Queen's Bench Justice W. A. Tilleman.
