Approximately 12 dogs of the 35 currently housed at the shelter have been affected. The animal shelter is currently working with a veterinarian to resolve the issue.
At this time, the city says there is no alternate location to house stray dogs. The city is encouraging all dog owners to ensure their dogs are wearing at least one form of contact information. Dogs picked up with identification will be delivered directly back to their home.
