The Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association provides the opportunity for improved physical and emotional well-being of people with all abilities through recreational and therapeutic riding. LETHBRIDGE SENIOR CITIZENS ORGANIZATION (LSCO)
Do you love working in the kitchen and need an outlet for your skills? We are looking for food prep volunteers to help create nutritious and hearty meals for our members. Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday; both on-call and regular volunteers are needed. Some prep experience would be an asset but is not required. Some knowledge of food safety and kitchen cleanliness is also an asset. Due to the size of the kitchen, it is not accessible to volunteers with wheelchairs or scooters. CANADIAN NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR THE BLIND (CNIB)
You can make a difference in the life of someone with vision loss. We are looking for volunteers to act as "vision mates" for our clients. This is a chance for volunteers to get to know clients on a one-on-one basis, spending time doing home visits, assisting with shopping or other daily tasks. How time is spent is decided between the volunteer and the client; volunteers must be over 18 and are asked to commit two to four hours a week. A criminal record check is required. ST. THERESE VILLA
Are you looking to expand your skills and give back to your community? St. Therese Villa is looking for individuals who are 14 and older >to volunteer within our Recreation Therapy Department during the summer. Volunteers will assist with a variety of duties including but not limited to baking, bowling, mini golf, bocce ball, gardening, crafts, discussion groups and outings. GREEN ACRES FOUNDATION - ALBERTA ROSE LODGE
Do you want to learn a new skill or share your talent? We are looking for people of all ages to provide entertainment to our residents for an hour during our afternoon and evening program. Do you sing, dance or play an instrument? Let us know! Volunteers must undergo a criminal record check. ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
You could be instrumental in saving someone's life as a first-aid responder. Volunteers are needed to go out to events in the community and provide first aid coverage. Training is provided and will begin in May; volunteers must be over 16 and must have current standard first aid prior to joining the program. A police records check is required. YWCA OF LETHBRIDGE AND DISTRICT
Make the most of winter by lending a hand during the Hypothermic Half Marathon Feb. 18. Volunteers are needed as run marshals for the event at Indian Battle Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Duties include directing the runners and walkers during the route and cheering them on. LETHBRIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Read On, the adult literacy program located at the Lethbridge Public Library needs you! We rely on volunteer tutors to help adults improve their literacy skills.
