Letter to the Editor
I am a passionate 14-year-old girl. This is the age of acceptance, appreciation and equality to not only multiculturalism but more specifically, women. Even though this is the way we are generally beginning to see society run, it is not always so.
Some men still often have the perception that their presence on Earth is of more importance. Men do not always realize the minute yet manipulating physical and verbal damage they are responsible for. Disparaging the abilities of women is something they more or less don't realize they are good at. Denise Clark once said, "Women are leaders everywhere you look, from a CEO to housewife that holds together a home. Our country was built by women who stand alone." Men, I'm talking to you.
Did you ever think it would be possible for a person to obtain the jobs of personal chef, housekeeper, taxi driver, hair stylist, food tester, family therapist, tutor, speech therapist, seamstress, keeper of secrets and occasionally guard of monster control. I did, and I know many people who do. These people are women. Contributions and dedication made by women make them more of a man than a man himself.
I believe that women are stronger than men, both physically and emotionally. The human body is capable of bearing 45 Del (measurement of pain the human body is capable of handling). During childbirth a woman withstands up to 57 Del of pain. Incredible; this pain is equal to fracturing 20 bones at one time. That is strength. Women are also emotionally stronger. They tell everyone it's going to be OK when hesitating to believe it themselves.
Women are truly capable of anything. Take a look at the women in your life; imagine what it would be like without them. Who would you be? Simply picture your mother not have been a part of your life through all of your milestones. A part of you would be missing.
Please recognize the importance of women and that their equality is deserved just as much as everyone else. Realize that a society without women is like a book without the pages, meaningless and dysfunctional.
It is time to be a real man: respect, cherish and appreciate women. Don't be afraid to treat others right. Whether we love, or close our hearts to love, is a mental choice we make, every moment of every day.
