I commend Wild Rose Agriculture Producers (WRAP) for addressing Alberta's agriculture child-labour issue head-on and proposing actual solutions. This makes more sense than the Potato Growers of Alberta (PGA) stance of pretending the issue doesn't exist. Or that of Official Opposition ag critic Ian Donovan's support for unfettered child labour in agriculture, and just attacking the messenger.
The head-in-the-sand approach taken by the PGA will not address the concerns of ethical buyers of Alberta produce, and will in fact damage the ag industry here in Alberta. This issue must be addressed and I congratulate WRAP for stepping up to the plate.
