I would like to comment on Kaljo Pohjakas's letter on Nov. 12, where he accuses Israel of war mongering.
Interesting that on Nov. 12, the anniversary of Kristallnacht was recognized: the start of the Holocaust. I guess Israel should wait for Holocaust No. 2?
There are six million Jews in Israel now, the same number who were killed in the Holocaust. These Muslim countries teach in school that the Holocaust was a hoax! There are also over 250,000 million Muslims surrounding Israel, and their Holy Koran/Hadiths call for the destruction of the Jews. Iran, Hamas, Hezbollah and Egyptian clerics all call for a takeover of the entire country. Over 80 per cent of the land initially granted to Israel in 1922 was revoked to create Jordan for the Palestinians!
The West Bank was won after 19 years of war, and finally Israel had enough and recovered the land. Islam has "prophesied" in their end-time eschatology that Israel has to be annihilated before the 12th Imam (messiah) can return.
How dare any country, including the U.S., pressure Israel into giving up any land won by war where they were consistently attacked? Gaza was returned and now Israel is shelled daily; 13,000 rockets since 2005! There will never be a peace treaty; that is not the goal of Hamas. The goal is to destroy Israel.
