Letter to the Editor
The town of Claresholm proved on March 3 that in the event of an emergency, they are prepared.
We all know the story of stranded travellers in a snowstorm but the reality is what do you do with a couple hundred excess people in a town that size?
Claresholm had nothing to panic about because they have an action plan and it works. Warm and welcoming, they provided hot beverages, a hot meal thanks to a local restaurant (Roy's Place) and (thanks to local residents) places to spend the night.
In short, my thanks to the town of Claresholm and its residents. Emergency preparedness and a positive attitude from you made Claresholm a warm haven on a frightening day.
