The Miners fell 18-2 to the Laurel Dodgers, the top seed from the East Conference. Braeden Heyland took the loss, giving up five runs in the second inning. Ren Visser and Austin Sedgwick also took the mound for Lehbridge. The Miners were out-hit 12-5 and added four errors to that. The team faces a do-or-die game today against the Bitterroot Red Sox at 9 a.m. The State tournament is being hosted by the Billings Blue Jays and wraps up Monday. Southwest at a high level HIGH LEVEL The Southwest Major Little League All-Stars laid a 12-0 whooping on Mackenzie Little League from High Level Thursday in High Level at the Little League Prairie championship tournament. Bryce DeBoer and Logan Ramsdell combined to throw a perfect game and Kale Penner (2-for-3 two doubles) and Shaun Grandmont (2-for-02, inside-the-park home run) provided the offence. The win means the Southwest All-Stars play Saturday at 9 a.m. with a chance to clinch their way to Monday’s Prairie championship game. |
