ALERT’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU-Lethbridge) has charged a man and two women following a three-month investigation that turned up cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana and other illegal drugs in a northside home.

On Jan. 7, a targeted traffic stop was conducted in relation to this investigation. A man and woman were arrested at the time and police recovered 29 grams of crack cocaine, seven grams of methamphetamine, and over $5,000 in cash.
On Feb. 12, CFSEU members, with assistance from the Lethbridge Regional Police Service Patrols Section, K9 unit and Tactical Team, executed a search warrant on a basement suite in a residence located along the 800 block of 19th Street North.
Inside the residence police found nine grams of methamphetamine, seven grams of powder cocaine, 16 grams of crack cocaine, 16 grams of cannabis resin, 15 grams of hash oil, 263 ecstasy pills, 17 grams of psilocybin and nearly 762 grams of marijuana.
The potential street value of all of the drugs seized is estimated at nearly $18,000.
“This property is located in a neighbourhood where there are a number of young families around and that is a concern to us,” said Staff Sgt. Wes Houston. “We do not want our children and good, law-abiding citizens exposed to this kind of activity. We will continue to pursue anyone who tries to set up shop and corrupt our neighbourhoods.”
Eldon Jon Meyers, 40, of Lethbridge, is charged with three counts of possession, six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of stolen property, two weapons offences and two breach of conditions offences. The charges are related to the search warrant executed at the northside home and the vehicle stop in January. Meyers is scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 20.
Charlene Jennifer Kane, 42, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of a controlled substance. The charge is in connection with the search warrant executed at the north side home. Kane is scheduled to appear in court again on March 8.
Brandi-May Sokol, 36, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. The charge is in connection with the traffic stop in January. Sokol is scheduled to appear in court again on Feb. 21.
CFSEU-Lethbridge is an integrated team of Lethbridge Regional Police Service (LRPS) members and RCMP who work together to address organized crime in the community.
