I've alerted people that depending on weather and roads I may not make it in to work. This in a city of nearly 90,000 in Canada, where winter is a reality. On Wednesday, Nov 13, once again both bridges where tied up with accidents (non-weather related) during the afternoon commute. I believe, and I could be wrong but if you check statistics, the frequency of these accidents are increasing. Now just imagine if another say 15,000 people move in on the city's westside, and even if a third were added in to daily grind on Whoop Up, odds are the number of accidents will go up. This all prior to a third bridge. Listen to the planners, they have their scheme and no bridge until at least the 2030's. Just wondering what it will take to move up that time line, if at all

This is from CJOC newsDeputy Mayor Bridget Mearns points out the streets and roadways that handle the most traffic are always top priority for snow removal. The roadways that are priority one for snow removal include Whoop Up Drive, Mayor Magrath Drive, University Drive West, and Bridge Drive West. Priority Two routes consist of Scenic Drive and 13th Street. Mearns says there's more money in the operating budget for snow removal than there was in the past. Michael in your letter you state Scenic Drive Priority l, but it is a Priority 2. It should be a Priority 1, why the City has not changed it is beyond me, as I would consider it a major roadway.

As I was trying to find out more info.about another Letter to Editor "Council Pay Hikes and a comment from "Jill" about the Brewery, which unfortunately I do not remember that poll. I came across a website, called www.lethbridgeaccountability.ca, on the left side is a number of topics, which include snow removal, and the new councils comments. Also found a website www.itsyourlethbridge.com which I never heard of until looking at Lethbridge Accountability. Both sites are a worth while read, as elections will be upon us sooner than we think.

Gillian are you drunk? A fine job? Are you talking about the Lethbridge that is in Southern Alberta? It has been a joke about Lethbridge for years that their snow removal method WAS a chinook. Next time we have a snowstorm like the last 2, why dont you post your phone number and people can call YOU to come help them get unstuck from "a few little snowflakes". Gimme a break.

seriously?????? People are not talking about a little skiff...but about snow storms like the last two when it's almost impossible to get around....perhaps you stay in and don't experience the conditions. Extremely icy and heavy wet snow 6-8" inches deep is not a few snowflakes. MY side street, between 9 and 10th ave..busy areas, NEVER get's plowed...it's a narrow one-way and it is a challenge maneuvering and not sideswiping another vehicle.Main roads should be cleared...less accidents, less tow trucks, less pushing someone out.etc etc etc. every little snowflake indeed

Oh come on, seriously? Lethbridge bills itself as an energy efficient community and backs this up by expending dollars for the public good only when absolutely necessary. Unless EMERGENCY vehicles can't make it, then NO CITY roadway should be touched by the blade of a snow plow. The city braintrust know what's best for taxpayers, that being,a chinook is the best form of snow removal for our fair burg. We must accept this philosophy ;-) OK, in most instances, the snow plow operators do a good job on snow removal on the MAJOR thorough fares. Management must do a better job of listening to the "grunts' in the trenches who might see that certain areas need plowing yet they are told they must hit the priority 1 & 2 routes first. If you can't get out of your neighborhood, you won't care about MM.dr. Whoop-up dr. Univ.dr. etc
