Even if the winds are calm in Lethbridge this weekend, area residents can create a breeze of their own on the Tornado and the Hurricane.
And if that’s not enough, there’s the Zipper, the Scrambler, the Gravitron and the Loop-O-Plane.
The owners of Wild Rose Shows, Debbie and Michael Kryzanowski, were setting up more than 20 rides in the Enmax parking lot Wednesday.
“We’re on our way to Rum Runner Days next week and we had an open spot,” said Debbie.
Until it’s time for them to head to the Crowsnest Pass, southern Albertans can spin themselves dizzy or take things slower on the Ferris wheel. Kiddie rides are available, as are corn dogs, mini-donuts and cotton candy.
Tickets cost $1 and most rides take three or four tickets, except for the Zipper which takes five. Wristbands, good for the entire day, cost $30 and are available at the ticket box.
The Pioneer Days Amusement Park will open Friday at noon and go until 11 p.m. Saturday hours go from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday hours are from noon to 6 p.m.
