BLACK PLUME
Mrs.GERALDINE BERYL (KING) BLACK PLUME, “IKAA KA KII”, was called home by the Creator on June 12th, 2009 at the age of 71 years.
She will be greatly missed by her best friend, companion, and greatest supporter Mr. Jim Black Plume, along with her great grandson, whom she took home from the hospital, claimed and called her own “Baby Jim”; as well as her children, adoptive children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and all that knew her.
Geraldine attended St. Mary’s Residential School until the age of 16 years old, then left to pursue various jobs throughout her life. Geraldine was a blessing to all who knew her.
The Wake Service will be held at the Black Plume residence, Moses Lake, Blood Reserve on Wednesday, June 17th and Thursday, June 18th at 6:00 p.m and continuing all night both days. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Blood Reserve on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 a.m. with Father Pawel Andrasz Celebrant. Interment in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Blood Reserve.

BERNE WILLIAM DOW beloved husband of Marjorie Dow of Lethbridge passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at the age of 90 years.

GRANSON
ELFRIEDA GRANSON, beloved wife of Fred Granson of Coaldale passed away peacefully at Chinook Regional Hospital on Monday, June 15, 2009 at the age of 76 years.
A visitation for family and friends will take place between 7 – 8 p.m., Friday, June 19 at CHRISTENSEN SALMON FUNERAL HOME, 327 – 10 St. S., Lethbridge.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 20, 2009 at CHRIST TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 416 – 12 St. South, Lethbridge with Pastor Jason Anderson officiating. Interment will take place at the Coaldale Cemetery.

Emma McKean
1924 - 2009
Emma McKean beloved wife of the late Charlie McKean, passed away in Picture Butte on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the age of 84 years.
Emma is survived by her children, Wayne (Laurie) McKean of Lethbridge, Jeanette (Frank) Heinen of Picture Butte, Corrine (Gary) Ellerman of Turin. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Leah (Leeon) Hage and their children Braeden & Kaylee; Spencer (Jen) Peterson and their sons Mason & Rory; Jennifer (Mark) Elliott and their daughters Ashlyn & Sidney; Jason (Peggy) McKean; Treena (Derek) McGowan; Colin (Kelly) Brooks. She will also be remembered by her godson Laurie Wickwire and by numerous other relatives.
She was predeceased by her husband & soul mate Charles in 1992, her parents Herman & Martha Brown, brother Bernard Brown and her sister June Brown.
Emma was born November 9, 1924 in Demaine, Saskatchewan and attended a small rural school. She married her sweetheart on October 10, 1945 and they farmed in Saskatchewan until moving to Alberta in 1965. They spent several years in the Vauxhall/Taber area and after Charles’ passing in 1992, Emma moved to the Piyami Lodge in Picture Butte in 2000. She spent nine years being cared for by absolutely wonderful caregivers. Emma and Charles attended many dances in their younger years and she loved to dance. She danced with the staff at Piyami and now is dancing again with Charlie - they are together again! Emma was the “world’s greatest Grandma and she will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 - 48 Avenue, Taber on Friday, June 19, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Frank Lewis officiating. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Condolences may be forwarded by visiting our website at www.southlandfuneral.com.

1942 - 2009
Judy Real beloved wife of Steve Real, passed away in Taber on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the age of 66 years.

WNEK
LOLA WNEK of Lethbridge, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2009.
Lola was born on January 23, 1930 in Kraski, Poland. In 1949 she came to Canada with her family and settled in Raymond, Alberta where she met and married Ted Wnek. After moving to Calgary, she and Ted settled in Lethbridge where Lola raised her family and worked for many years as a dietary aid at St. Michael’s Hospital.
Lola will forever be remembered for her devotion to her family and her faith, and for her enduring love of gardening.
She is survived by her son Richard (Lori) Wnek, her daughter Irene (Garry) Vinje, and by her beloved grandchildren Josh, Jake and Jessica. She is also survived by her brothers Wally (Ann) Kortt and Gus Kortt; by her sister Helen Sadowski; and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Julianna Kortt, and by her brother-in-law Peter Sadowski.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00pm, on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 St., S., Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00am, on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the ST. BASIL’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604 – 13 St., N., Lethbridge, Alberta. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
