DOREEN MARY NIELSEN (ROWSE)
Our beautiful Mother Doreen passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Monday February 2, 2009 at the tender age of 94 years, with her faithful poodle, Chickey, by her side. Doreen is now with her son Glen David, Mother and Father, and all of her siblings and dear friends who predeceased her.
Doreen was born in Leceister England on November 20, 1914. She fell in love with and married Earl Nielsen (a Canadian Soldier) and she then emigrated to Milk River, Alberta as a war bride. Doreen and Earl divorced when the children were very young.
She was a beautiful woman who always had a gentle song in her heart which she shared with everyone and everything she was near. Doreen loved all of life, and she respected all. She was always there for anyone who needed comfort and unconditional love and she would sing with her heart and soul.
Her dearest and most sacred blessings were her children Michael, Kent, Glen, Lorelei, Pamela, and of course her little daughter Vanessa Gay who Doreen was forced to give up for adoption because she had limited means of supporting all of her children.
Doreen worked hard, raised her children (she was a good mother) and supported her precious family by singing for others. She has sung at many weddings, funerals and sang solo in her church and in choirs in Alberta.
Doreen was ultimately blessed with 10 Grandchildren: Christopher, Dionne, Douglas, Jasmine, Matthew, Nancy, Phashan, Richard, Timothy and Tyler, and 7 Great grandchildren: Ashley, Conner, Conner (yes..2 Conners!) Emily, Olivia, Ryker and Sarah.
Doreen lived in Milk River with her daughter Pamela and friend Austin whom she cherished as she would a son.
We will celebrate her life at ST. PAUL'S UNITED CHURCH in Milk River on Saturday, February 7, 2009 11:00 am.
WE LOVE YOU DEAR MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER AND FRIEND
"But those who hope in strength. They will soar or run and not grow weary."
