Albertans need to wake up Print E-mail

It’s truly amazing how naive Albertans have become. Here we are living in a province that has the highest percentage per capita, in North America, of children with asthma, and the highest number of people with multiple sclerosis. Both problems are considered, by doctors, to be the result of the air pollution from the oil industry.
Now these naive Albertans are doing everything they can to help the provincial and federal governments ignore doing something about the problem. While oilmen are telling us we are going to face massive lawsuits over the air pollution drifting into Saskatchewan and Manitoba, they stick their heads in the sand and ignore it. Let our children deal with it, right?
My family is a perfect example of the problem. My parents came to Alberta from B.C. in 1938. Their three children born and raised in Alberta all developed asthma; my 32 cousins born and raised in B.C. have none.
