Arts centre consultants an unnecessary cost Print E-mail

I find it hard to accept the fact that the city is yet again paying thousands of dollars for yet more consultants for an arts centre in this city. And, these ones are from the U.S. . . . all three of them!
Why are they not consulting people who built the multi-faceted arts facilities in Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, St. Albert and Calgary? Why don’t they save money and consult the architects who built these facilities, making adjustments for space and need in Lethbridge? This expense is an unnecessary one and the money could certainly be put to better use locally, such as increasing the pittance that NOKA (No-Kill Alliance) receives annually to help out with the epidemic proportion of cats that are in need of altering and veterinary care in general.

It’s truly amazing how naive Albertans have become. Here we are living in a province that has the highest percentage per capita, in North America, of children with asthma, and the highest number of people with multiple sclerosis. Both problems are considered, by doctors, to be the result of the air pollution from the oil industry.
