MRS. ROSIE “MAKOYIPITAAKI" DAY RIDER, beloved wife of the late Mr. Barney Day Rider, passed away peacefully at the Cardston Health Centre surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the age of 88 years.
Survived by her loving children: Martha (Winston) Day Chief Sr., Rose (Pat) Fox, Doreen (Jeff) Fox, Mavis Smith (Brent Singer), Johnny (Agnes), Andy (Pat), Leonard (Dorothy), Ronnie (Cynthia) Scout, Pete, Rudy Wells, Clayton Blood. Son-in-law Roy Pilling. Daughter-in-laws: Shelly Iron Shirt, Ann Healy. Brother: Wayne (Diane) Plume. Sister-in-law: Theresa (Twigg) Plume. Adopted Children: Morris & Betty-Ann Little Wolf, Heber & Florence Pilling, Carol & Russell Wagner, Dolly Creighton, Ralph & Faith Zentner, Bob & Monica Wilson, Deanna Plume and Hannelore. Rosie is also survived by numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Pre-Deceased by her loving husband Barney Day Rider. Children: Darlene Rose Wells-Pilling, Tex Melvin Day Rider. Daughter-in-law: Verna Mae Day Rider. Grandchildren: Patricia Rose Fox, Jonathan Fox, Brenty Boy Day Chief, Kevin Pat Day Rider, Cee Cee Day Rider, Terri-Lee Day Rider, Bobbi Rae Wells, Melvin Joe Iron Shirt. Great Grandchildren: Carrie Rose Wells, Cara Wells, Dustin & Dalton Saddle Back-Wells, Kassandra & Shaquielle Day Chief, Daniel James Frank, Nikita Day Rider. Parent: Laurie & Minnie Plume. Sisters: Annie Heavy Head, Florence Scout, Ione Plume, Mabel Little Bull from Browning, MT. Brothers: Dean Plume, Mike Steel.A Family Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 4:00 P.M.
A Wake will be held at SENATOR GLADSTONE HALL, Blood Reserve, from 6:30 to 9:00 P.M. The Wake will continue at Rosie’s house (Farm 4) all night.
A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at ST. MARY’S IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Pawell Andrasz Celebrant O.M.I.
Interment to follow at ST. CATHERINE’S CEMETERY.

EVELYN G. DEMERS, of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael's Health Centre on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the age of 86 years.

FIORINO
RITA TERESA FIORINO passed away peacefully with her family at her side at St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the age of 78 years.
Rita Teresa Pedretti Fiorino was born in 1934 in Sluderno, Italy. Her family moved to Grimaldi, Italy a short time later. In 1954, she emigrated from Italy to Trail, BC and was married to Peter Fiorino. In the same year the family moved to Lethbridge, Alberta.
Rita leaves behind a loving family: Michael and Connie Fiorino and their children Courtney, Sascha, and Natasha Fiorino; Mary Tokarski and Danny Christie and her daughter Amanda; Rob and Elena Fiorino and his son Peter; Dennis Fiorino and Colette Jinnouchi and their children Anna, Claire, Samuel, and Lucie.
A short time ago she was diagnosed with cancer and she accepted this terminal condition with grace. She was very grateful for the care and kind words from her many good friends and family at the end of her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Prayer Service at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 604-13th Street North, Lethbridge on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 7:00 P.M.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. BASIL'S CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Roque Pereira, Celebrant.
Cremation to follow at Cornerstone Crematorium.

GLENN GANNON, beloved companion of Barb Bodnar, of Coaldale, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Friday, May 17, 2013 at the age of 52 years.
He is the loving father of Ryan & Dan of Coaldale, son of Marina Gannon of Lethbridge, brother of Gary (Jacqueline) of Edmonton and Neil (Patti Ann) of Wetaskiwin, nephew of Gilbert Gannon of Montreal, uncle to several nieces and nephews, and survived by his first wife Helena MacPhee.
A Celebration of Life will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB. on Friday, May 24th, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Canon James Robinson Officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

HENRY ALOYSIUS DAY RIDER (POHK TSI NA) passed away May 15, 2013 in Fort Macleod at the age of 69. Left to mourn his passing are his wife of 36 years, Louise and daughter, Flora. Sisters; Florence (Frank) Petrik, Cynthia (Wally) Hunt, Joyce (Ron) Doore, Edith and Laverne Wells; Brothers; Melvin (Anne) Wells and Arnold (Joan) Wells. Aunts; Elizabeth Big Throat and Clara (Francis) Russell, His God children that he took as his own, nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Raised in standoff and at an early age began to work as a farmer near Fort Macleod. Back in the old days he rode a horse from that farm to St. Mary residential school where he stayed for 11 years. Henry met Louise at a basket social not realizing she would become his wife later in life. Friends brought them together a courtship began and a life together confirmed by marriage in July, 1977. Endeavoring to succeed as a welder Henry received his Journeyman Red Seal Welder Certification from Lethbridge College in 1982. A business man most of his life except for the years 1984 – 1986 where he was elected to Chief and Council Henry was owner/operator of Day Rider’s Welding, Old Agency Trucking and The Pizzaria in Standoff Townsite and served as Vice-President for the Blood Reserve Truckers Association.
Henry worked hard all his life and did not tolerate any show of weakness from those around him. He did not hesitate to share his opinion which sometimes was harsh. Those who knew him well also saw a softer side of him and established a strong bond pure and sincere. People often asked for his assistance secure in the fact that he was ‘expert’ with mechanical advice.
Throughout his life he crossed paths with many people some became life long friends he considered family. His generous heart and friendly spirit will be greatly missed. He leaves this world to join his family predeceased before him; parents Henry Sr and Flora (Healy) Day Rider and Brothers Terry Day Rider and Murry Wells, Aunts and Uncles too numerous to mention.
A Family Service will be held at 4:00 P.M., on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at EDEN"S FUNERAL HOME, 2424 5th ave, Fort Macleod, AB. Following with a wake service at 7:00 P.M., at Henry’s Residence.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2603 3rd Ave, Fort Macleod AB, with Father Angelo D’Costa, Officiating. Interment to follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
