LYDIA DOROTHY COURTOREILLE passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at the age of 87 years.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at1:00 P.M. with Reverend Mr. Cliff Bogden officiating. Cremation to follow.

DEGENSTEIN
Degenstein, August Joseph passed away peacefully at Vulcan Extendicare May 8, 2008 at the age of 94 years.
August was born on October 24, 1913 at Berwick, North Dakota to Joseph and Barbara Degenstein. When August was five years old they moved to Turin, Alberta and later to Lomond.
August joined the Royal Canadian Engineers Corp. in 1942. He married Dorothy Hummel in June, 1943. The following month he was sent overseas and served on the front lines in WWII until returning home in December 1945.
August moved his family to Warner where he worked on the Lorne McKenzie farm. In 1948 they moved back to the Champion area where he purchased a farm. August and Dorothy moved into Champion in 1982 where he lived until February of this year when he moved into Extendicare.
August was a fine accordion player and he, accompanied by his wife Dorothy on the piano, played many dances with several orchestras throughout Southern Alberta.
August is survived by his loving wife Dorothy of 65 years, a son Blain (Joan) of Airdrie, a daughter Jacquie Shand (Harvey Kraft) of Calgary, four grandchildren, April Shand, Amy (Roy Stuchkless), Jenny (Tim Becker), Clark Degenstein (Erin), three great grandchildren, four step grandchildren, seven step great grandchildren, a brother Frank, two brothers-in-law George (Alice) Hummel, Ramon (Jean) Hummel, sister-in-law Racille (George) Ellis and numerous nieces and nephews.
August was predeceased by a baby daughter Dewilla, a daughter-in-law Loree, five brothers, two sisters, his parents and ten half siblings.
Funeral Mass Monday May 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Champion with Rev.Fr. Malcolm D’Souza Celebrant.
Interment Champion Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers tributes in August’s memory can be made to either the Champion Cemetery Maintenance Association, Box 99, Champion, T0L 0R0 or Vulcan Extendicare Auxiliary, Box 810, Vulcan, T0L 2B0.

JAMES "JIM" ROTH, born in Medicine Hat, Alberta on 21st of August 1930, passed away peacefully at the Coaldale Health Care Centre on Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at the age of 77.
The family wishes to invite relatives and friends to gather at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH, 2316 - 17 Street, Coaldale, Alberta, on Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. to say goodbye to a wonderful man.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the COALDALE MENNONITE CHURCH on Monday, May 12, 2008 at 2:00 P.M.

TERENCE WENDELL GRAHAM
Oct. 29, 1931 - May 6, 2008
Terry passed away peacefully on May 6, 2008. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Trude and his children and grandchildren.
Terry attended a small rural school (Powell), Warner School and Calgary School of Technology. Terry started farming in the Warner area in 1949. In 1950, he married Gloria Ostby and together they had four children: Deb Boras, Val (Doug Tollestrup), Garth (Sue Graham) and Laurel Blake.
Over Terry’s farming career he dry land farmed, raised beef cattle, chickens for a restaurant, pigs, sheep and milked dairy cattle. His greatest enjoyment was working cattle with his beloved horse Missie.
His involvement in the Warner community included development of the skating rink and bowling alley as a Civic Centre Board Member (8 years), and as a 4-H parent advisor, spending numerous evenings and weekends supporting the youth of the community.
Terry was an avid Lions’ member. He was active in the Warner Lions Club for 47 years.
Terry’s hobbies included trail riding, fishing, boating, snowmobiling, woodworking and horticulture. Terry was gifted with his hands in many different artistic ways.
In 1986, Terry married Trude. They resided on the farm until 1999 and in the community of Warner until his passing.
Terry is survived by his wife Trude, his four children, nine grandchildren, sister Georgia and brother Ken (Mary).
Terry is predeceased by his parents Ted and Ruth, his brothers Deral and Jim, his granddaughter Gail and son-in-law George Boras.
Terry’s Memorial Reception will be held on Monday, May 19 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Warner Elks Hall.
