City's first Victor Walk

A group of walkers brave the rainy weather to take part in the inaugural Victor Walk Thursday morning at Henderson Lake. The local Victor Walk, one of many across the country, joined in the efforts of former NHL star and sex abuse victim Theo Fleury as he walked from Toronto to Ottawa to raise awareness of child sexual abuse.

Gas prices soaring

Many gas stations raised their prices to 131.9 cents a litre Thursday, including a couple of the city's Petro-Canada stations who just returned to pumping gas after being out of service for the past three weeks due to a supply issue.

Scientific juices flowing

Scientific juices flowing

Gilbert Paterson students Lauren Kwan and Maren Evanson take part in an experiment to analyze the vitamin C content of a variety of juices as part of the Science Sizzle school science camp Thursday at the University of Lethbridge. Grade 6 students from Paterson, G.S. Lakie and Wilson middle schools are taking part in the university's Destination Exploration science camp, learning through a variety of hands-on science activities.
